Job Overview:

The Senior Director, Product Management is responsible for building, leading, and managing a complex global product portfolio. This includes developing product strategy and business plans, driving new product development, gaining cross-functional alignment, and ensuring successful execution of business objectives.

 

This leader oversees all aspects of a global product line portfolio - from innovation and roadmap development to go-to-market strategy - working closely with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Operations. The role also includes responsibility for leading global product management teams and driving both organic and inorganic growth opportunities, including partnerships.

 

Acting with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong business ownership, this role operates with a general manager (GM) perspective, holding accountability for portfolio performance, including revenue and gross margin targets. Success requires strong strategic thinking, global collaboration experience, and the ability to influence across regions and functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Market Sensing & Strategy Development

  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, demand drivers, and competitive landscape
  • Conduct segmentation analysis to develop targeted market strategies
  • Perform competitive benchmarking and define differentiated value propositions
  • Develop product roadmaps aligned to business strategy
  • Define go-to-market strategies, including channels and partnerships
  • Partner with R&D and Operations on new product development
  • Manage the full product lifecycle

 

Business Planning

  • Define resource requirements to execute product roadmaps
  • Align cross-functional sales, technology, and operations strategies with financial goals
  • Establish pricing policies
  • Develop annual operating plans, including revenue and margin targets
  • Engage customers to ensure product plans align with strategic priorities

 

Execution – New Product Development & Launch

  • Lead product launch planning, including marketing and sales enablement
  • Provide demand forecasting inputs to S&OP processes
  • Support customer engagements to win new business
  • Provide thought leadership within the organization
  • Develop strong business cases for new product investments
  • Execution – Post-Launch Product Management
  • Own portfolio P&L performance (revenue and margin)
  • Drive sustained profitable growth
  • Enable sales through training and value-based collateral
  • Manage special pricing requests
  • Track business plan performance and resolve gaps
  • Champion resolution of product issues such as quality or delivery

 

Talent Leadership

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a global team of product managers
  • Build high-performing, collaborative teams across regions

What your background should look like:

Experience & Education

  • 12+ years of experience in product management, engineering, or sales
  • Relevant product or industry experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Prior P&L ownership experience preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 30% globally

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $222,800 – 334,100 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
