Job Overview

TE's Aerospace, Defense, and Marine (AD&M) Business Unit is looking for a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to lead a small team and drive financial strategy and performance. This role will involve overseeing financial planning processes, providing strategic insights, and partnering with leadership to guide decision-making that supports the growth and success of the business unit.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Strategic Financial Planning:
    • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and investment planning processes to ensure alignment with the business unit's strategic goals.
    • Drive continuous improvement in budgeting and forecasting, ensuring precision and alignment with organizational objectives.
    • Oversee the profit planning process and prepare financial materials for executive reviews, including strategic plans and quarterly business reviews.
  • FP&A Leadership and Reporting
    • Interface with finance leaders across divisions, corporate finance teams, and senior leadership to provide monthly financial updates, variance analysis, and actionable insights.
    • Lead quarterly fluctuation analysis for external auditors and support capital investment evaluations to ensure financial documentation meets corporate standards.
    • Partner with Corporate Treasury to optimize currency and commodity hedging strategies, improving financial outcomes.
  • Strategic Business Partnering:
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, offering data-driven insights on financial performance, business growth, and strategic decisions (e.g., capital investments, pricing models).
    • Conduct special financial analyses related to business initiatives, evolving business models, and make-vs-buy decisions.
  • Financial Policies and Process Improvements:
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, and corporate financial policies while leading process improvements to enhance financial reporting and FP&A activities.
    • Develop and maintain standard procedures and ensure timely financial reporting.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing FP&A team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and inclusion.
    • Provide coaching to team members, helping them grow professionally while ensuring they meet evolving business needs.
       

What your background should look like:

Qualifications:

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of finance experience, including at least 5 years in FP&A and operations finance. Experience in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing industries preferred.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and financial analysis skills. Experience with ERP systems, financial modeling tools (e.g., Tableau, Alteryx), and international finance regulations. Familiarity with capital investment evaluation, currency hedging, and cost management.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $169,400 – 254,200 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
