Job Overview
The Director of Engineering Excellence & PMO is a critical member of the AD&M Business Unit's Engineering Leadership team, reporting directly to the VP & CTO. This role is responsible for driving engineering efficiency and maximizing return on investment by leading strategy, execution, and talent development across engineering excellence, project and portfolio leadership, and product and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy
- Develop and implement Strategic and Annual Operating Plans to drive short- and long-term growth.
- Formulate and execute strategies for cost reduction, resource optimization, and business growth.
- Align cross-functional strategies to achieve parallel transformation and maximize growth potential.
- Oversee New Product Introductions (NPI) through all development and launch phases.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements through proactive strategy and process enhancements.
- Define analytics and reporting mechanisms to monitor progress and strategy effectiveness.
Execution
- Enhance product time-to-market and cost management through improved engineering processes.
- Drive standardization, simplification, and digitalization across the product lifecycle.
- Automate compliance coding and introduce tools to streamline regulatory adherence.
- Develop and deploy portfolio management tools in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Establish robust analytics infrastructure to deliver actionable insights throughout product development.
- Manage the engineering software and systems budget, including capital expenditures.
Talent Development
- Design and execute a people strategy to support growth and continuity.
- Optimize team structure and establish competency frameworks for succession planning.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
- Develop employee engagement and communication strategies to build a high-performing, scalable workforce.

Experience and Qualifications:
- 10+ years of leadership experience in multinational product/technology development environments, particularly in PMO, engineering leadership, or business transformation.
- Proven record of year-over-year improvements aligned with business strategy.
- Experience defining and scaling PMO and engineering design process excellence initiatives.
- Expertise in risk mitigation and risk tracking to improve business performance.
- Background in design engineering and product development stage-gate processes.
- Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools.
- PMP (or equivalent) certification required; Six Sigma and Lean methodologies preferred.
- Strong IT skills and ability to implement technology-driven process improvements.

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $189,000 – 283,400 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
