The Principal System Architect – Industrial Sensors is a global leadership role responsible for shaping the industrial sensors market strategy and product portfolio. As a recognized subject matter expert, the Principal System Architect provides system-level leadership across the organization, translating customer needs, market trends, and technology developments into innovative product concepts, technology roadmaps, and executable requirements. Job Requirements

Technical Leadership & Application Expertise

•    Serve as the recognized technical authority for industrial sensing applications, providing deep system-level expertise and guidance across customers, partners, and internal teams.
•    Translate market, application, and customer requirements into clear product specifications, system architectures, and development priorities.
•    Advise customers on system-level trade-offs and optimize sensing solutions to maximize performance, reliability, cost, and ease of integration.
•    Drive early customer engagement and design-in activities through close collaboration with engineering teams and technical decision-makers.
•    Develop and deliver application-focused training programs to elevate technical knowledge across sales, FAE, marketing, and engineering organizations.
•    Represent the company as a thought leader and subject matter expert through industry forums, trade shows, technical publications, and digital channels.

Market Intelligence & Strategic Insight

•    Monitor and assess market dynamics, industry trends, growth drivers, and emerging application opportunities to inform business and technology strategy.
•    Maintain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape, identifying areas of differentiation and strategic opportunity.
•    Leverage system-level analysis, problem solving, and customer insights to define compelling value propositions and solution strategies.
•    Evaluate emerging technologies, disruptive innovations, and competitive threats to guide future investment decisions.
•    Capture and communicate market and application requirements that align organizational priorities, product strategy, and technology development.

Product Innovation & Technology Strategy

•    Shape mid- and long-term product, technology, and innovation roadmaps by aligning customer needs, market trends, and application insights.
•    Identify strategic portfolio and technology gaps and provide recommendations for future investment and development.
•    Partner with Product Management, R&D, Sales, and Marketing to define product strategies, roadmap priorities, and commercialization plans.
•    Lead and sponsor advanced technology initiatives that enable differentiated products and sustainable competitive advantage.
•    Serve as a strategic technical advisor to business and product line leadership, influencing portfolio decisions and long-term growth strategies.
•    Champion innovation through disciplined engineering, cross-functional collaboration, and customer-focused technology development.

What your background should look like

•    Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline. Technical master’s degree preferred.
•    10+ years direct experience within the industrial sensors market in a similar role. 
•    Strong understanding of sensor technologies and system-level integration
•    Demonstrated experience working with customer engineering teams on technical solutions
•    Ability to translate complex technical requirements into practical, scalable solutions
•    Capability to synthesize and simplify complex situations and drive organizational alignment.
•    Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
•    Familiarity with market-driven product strategy and platform development
•    Ability to lead and drive initiatives in a cross functional environment
•    Proficiency using Microsoft Office tools.
•    Ability to travel globally 25% travel.
