In this critical role, the Technical Sales Engineer , will work closely with customers, partners, cross functional stakeholders, in development and execution of growth strategies for applications in Industrial Automation and Electrification industries. Solutions from TE Connectivity’s leading product portfolios drive sustained growth for the business and this role will serve as the critical technical expert to our customers and internal teams. You're a self-starter, independent and ambitious, with a strong capacity for closing technical sales efforts providing extraordinary customer experience. What your background should look like
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years of Technical Sales experience working with OEMs and Distribution Channel partners
• Support travel 25% with periods of more intense travel depending upon the needs of the business.
• Fluent in English language as a good communicator (verbal, written, spoken) with listening skills.
• Interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong, credible relationships with our customers
• Self-motivated with a focus to serving and helping customers
• Problem solving, critical thinking, and project management skills
• Strategic thinker with strong problem solving skills, understanding the priority keys to success
• Creativity to see alternatives and ability to show TE’s Value proposition.
What you will be doing:
The Technical Sales Engineer will work directly with customers’ engineers and buyers to solve their design challenges with TE Connectivity solutions. The successful candidate will be TE Connectivity’s application expert to communicate TE Connectivity’s value proposition and execute our strategies to application focus growth customers in a defined territory.
The position will require extensive interaction with customers, partners and channel representatives, along with internal stakeholders (sales, product management, engineering, customer care) to develop opportunities for for significant growth. This position reports directly to the AFG Industry manager with the role to support TE Connectivity’s valued customers.
Technical Sales Engineer Key Responsibilities:
• Develop a sales and marketing plan for the industry and the key customers for the industry.
• Plan needs to promote full TE portfolio (connectors, relays, contactors, EMI filters, custom harnesses, electrical cabinets, wire/cabling solutions for industrial electrification and automation applications.
• Drive brand awareness of TE Connectivity solutions & capabilities to our customers
• Build and maintain strong business relationships with customers to drive/increase revenue to ensure an exceptional customer experience solving customer challenges
• Learn the customer applications, future product development roadmap to capture the customer voice for TE Connectivity to develop next-generation solutions
• Learn the customer eco-system, and sub-systems for TE Connectivity to be the market share leader
• Respond professionally to inquiries from customers.
