Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Engineering Project Management Teams manage cross functional engineering projects. They work with Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across TE to assure projects meet financial, schedule and customer expectations. They are responsible for defining and creating project schedules, portfolio management, communication and execution of programs, identifying resource constraints and working with management for resolution, while adhering to LeanPD processes.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Act as the “GM” for the project to ensure that the project meets the design requirements and contractual obligations for TE.
  • Proactively own the business case and the P&L for the project. Ensure data accuracy of the P&L, including forecasts, by appropriately challenging stakeholders during initiation to closure of project.
  • Provide tactical leadership over the project:
    • Initiate the project 
    • Plan
    • Execute 
    • Monitor and Control
    • Close
  • Actively identify and manage risks associated with the project to ensure that the risks are either prevented or mitigated. Ensure that long-term liabilities are considered and managed.
  • Identify relevant stakeholders (Product Management, Sales, Engineering, TE Customers and Suppliers etc) and align stakeholders to the requirements of the project. Drive stakeholders to achieve goals of the project by leveraging skills of the project team.
  • Identify and organize resources (i.e. a project team) for the project. Drive and lead project team (non-direct reports) by holding members accountable for deliverables 
    Identify and proactively overcome barriers and roadblocks during the project.
    Ensure that the project is aligned with the BU’s growth strategy and help stakeholders to understand how the project is aligned to the strategy. Ensure that concerns are raised and resolved if the project is not aligned with the BU’s growth strategy.Challenge project and associated product information and Sales forecasts as necessary, or provide project data to Product Manager in order to challenge Sales forecasts.Build and foster a network of contacts and Subject Matter Experts to draw upon as required through the project

Qualification & Experience:

  • B.E./B.Tech./M.Tech. in Mechanical, Production, Industrial or Electrical Engineering with good Analytical and Conceptual Skills. MBA or PGDBM qualification is a plus.
  • About 5 - 10 years’ experience in an Interconnect, Consumer Electronics, Automotive, Industrial or Appliances Industry or a reputed Design House, out of which at least 3 years in Project/Program Management.
  • Hands-on Experience on MS Project and MS Office tools.
  • Excellent Communication and Presentation skills. Fluent English language skills a must.
  • Experience in Product Design involving Plastic and Sheet Metal parts.
  • PMP Certification is desirable.
  • Knowledge of six sigma tools will be added advantage.
