Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Purchasing Teams are responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment and services, gather quotations, examine bids, and award contracts. They perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, evaluate vendor reliability and develop new supply sources where required. They coordinate purchasing activities with the manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. They also look for and recommend cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria as well as develop specifications for new contract orders.

Your main tasks

•Procurement & Supplier Management:
-Definition, track and execution of the Tooling Strategy in coordination with ME promoting business at preferred suppliers based on technical assessments and business performance.
-Supplier capability evaluation based on technical assessment and business performance. Understanding and building supplier capability matrix
-Source and purchase tooling, dies, molds, Assemblies and related components following TE sourcing Process to support ongoing production inside of TE facilities or / and TE Suppliers. Award business for external equipment to tooling suppliers to ensure specification requirements, budget, and project timelines are met (on time, on quality, on cost)

•Tooling Maintenance & Sustainning:
-Oversee the lifecycle management of tooling, ensuring timely repairs, refurbishments, and replacements.
-Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to troubleshoot tooling issues and implement corrective actions.
•Cost Optimization & Budgeting:
-Develop and Manage annual supplier Capex plan for tooling that is prioritized based on tool condition, lifecycle, cavitation, etc. 
-Analyze tooling costs and drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.

•Cross-Functional Collaboration:
-Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure tooling meets manufacturing requirements.
-Leading tooling commodity in terms of Tooling cost, readiness, CBD and cost negotiation.
-Maintain documentation related to tooling specifications, supplier contracts, and maintenance records.
•Compliance & Risk Management:
-Ensure all tooling purchases comply with company policies, industry standards, and safety regulations.
-Mitigate risks related to supplier reliability, tooling obsolescence, and unexpected failures.
-Maintain accurate records of tooling inventory and lifecycle tracking.


 

Your ideal background

•Master's degree in mechanical ,electrical or industrial Engineering or a related field.
•Initial experience in Procurement. Manufacturing engineering in the automotive Industry, technical understanding and experience in tooling / Plastics molding, injection molding, stamping, Die-casting, and Assembly.
•+4years of experience in procurement, tooling, or manufacturing environments.
•Basic knowledge of automotive standards (APQP, IATF 16949)
•Strong understanding of tooling processes, materials, and supplier management.
•Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, etc..)
•Advanced Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
•Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
•Languages: English fluent in written and speaking, German, additional languages is a plus.
