Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Financial Planning & Analysis Teams develop, interpret and implement financial concepts for financial planning and control. They perform technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance. They gather, analyze, prepare and summarize recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements and operating forecasts. The Financial Planning & Analysis Teams also perform economic research and studies in the areas of rates of return, depreciations, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance and impact of governmental requirements.

Your main tasks

1.Should-Cost Model Development
•Support the implementation and structuring of should-cost models and target cost activities with external partners.
•Estimate product costs based on Bill of Materials (BOM), using internal cost modelling tools and databases.
•Ensure consistency between costing, product/process definitions, and inputs from supporting functions.
•Provide real-time updates, gap analysis, and directional costing to internal stakeholders.
2.Cost Information Analysis
•Analyse and challenge provided cost information and assumptions.
•Collect and consolidate part prices, investment data, and costing inputs for defined products and potential manufacturing scenarios.
•Monitor cost evolution and maintain detailed traceability for cost-related decisions.
3.Cross-Functional Support (Engineering, Sales, PM/PjM, Procurement)
•Support Sales teams in technical discussions with customers regarding material usage, labour, and profitability optimization.
•Collaborate with Product Engineering during development phases to analyse component costs and drive margin improvements.
•Participate in technical evaluations and assumptions during sourcing phases with the acquisition team.
4.Continuous Improvement
•Ensure the costing database is regularly updated and aligned with official inputs (materials, plants, machine rates, etc.).

Your ideal background

•Master’s degree in Engineering (mandatory); combined experience or education in Finance is highly valued
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial environment, ideally in the automotive industry.
•Solid background in production, manufacturing engineering, cost estimation, or product cost analysis.
•Technical understanding of manufacturing processes (preferably Assembly; Molding, Stamping, Machining, etc.).
•Ability to provide qualitative, reliable, and traceable cost data.
•Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
•Fluent in English.

Our internship program typically runs May thru August and gives students the opportunity to work on projects that contribute to the success of their team and build on their classroom experience. Throughout the 10–12-week program, interns will be provided with:

Timeline
TE Connectivity recruits on campus between September and March for New Grad (FT), Rotational, Internship and Co-op positions beginning in May. Once you have applied to a position, your resume and application will be reviewed. If you are selected to move to the next step in the application process, you will be contacted by a recruiter. Once you accept an offer, the onboarding process will begin in January for interns who have committed to offers in the fall semester and upon acceptance for interns who have committed to offers in the spring semester.
