Responsibilities
- Provide feedback to appropriate departments on meeting customer requirements.
- Primary liaison between production and purchasing regarding material delays. Proactively works to resolve.
- Quote lead times to the Sales Coordinators for requested delivery times for materials not in stock.Lead sales and operations planning deployment and ensure tactical planning processes are achieving targets.
- Schedule production using a variety of inputs such as sales orders, historical data, sales forecasts, and inputs from product managers or executive management.
- Determine and control the entry, modification (if required) and release of all Work Orders to support the master schedule as well as any unplanned customer requirements.
- Adheres to quality and safety systems or maintenance of quality and safety standards.
- Maintain all supply chain related training documents and conduct training on new procedures\processes when necessary.
- Collaborate with multiple TE factories and suppliers to ensure proper inventory levels for finished goods and components.
- Effectively manage inventory levels to meet customer orders, including safety & distribution stock, utilizing Supply Chain systems / processes.
- Develop, improve, and monitor reporting processes & systems to control the supply chain functions, including but not limited to Advanced Material Planning solutions (eg. Forecasting & MPS tool approaches).
- Collaborate with Materials Management team to optimize supply chain and logistics solutions in order to maximize On Time Delivery to Customer request and Laird promise, while minimizing inventory investment.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and Manufacturing Engineering regarding manpower, equipment, and tooling resource requirements to fulfill the MPS. Utilize Rough and Finite Capacity analysis techniques.
- Make recommendations to management regarding improvements in the supply chain processes to better enable the company to be efficient, cut costs, and improve delivery performance to customers.
Requirements
- Previous experience in production/materials planning/MRP required.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong computer skills including Excel, and Microsoft Windows programs.
- Complete understanding and experience with integrated manufacturing software systems, CPIM preferred.
- Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
- QAD or similar ERP system experience preferred
- At least 7 years related experience in applicable field.
- 5+ years of scheduling/planning experience required.
