Job Overview

 

TE Connectivity's Product Management Teams manage all aspects of a product, from driving new product development to manufacturing to marketing. They are responsible for overall product strategy, business leadership and capacity plans in order to meet sales and profit targets.

 

The Global Product manager is responsible for developing global product strategy, new product introductions, product roadmaps, voice of customers, competitive analysis and defining value proposition for product portfolio. They will be responsible for portfolio of DinRail mounted solutions (Terminal Blocks). S/he will be accountable for its P&L including revenue, profitability, long term growth of portfolio.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

  • Conduct market segmentation exercises to develop market segment-specific strategies.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking.
  • Product Forecast (S&OP) to support Operations/Manufacturing and influence long term capacity planning.
  • Develop product roadmaps that align with business strategy.
  • Design go to market strategy, inclusive of channel strategy and partnerships.
  • Work with R&D and operations in the development of new products to meet current and future customer requirements.
  • Manage the product lifecycle, by actively promoting or exiting products.
  • Define resource requirements necessary to execute the product roadmap.
  • Work cross functionally to define sales, technology and operations strategies and goals, in line with financial goals. Build consensus on specific tasks.
  • Product launch preparation activities (Ready-Set-Go).
  • Pricing support: Portfolio Management: Book Pricing, Quotes.
  • Support the development of 5-year strategic growth plan, market analysis, competitive analysis, industry trends and market penetration of product lines.
  • Be a leader in solving conflicts and finding resolution to challenges impacting customer experience.
  • Enable sales to promote product line via training and the development of collateral materials that help articulate the value proposition.
  • Manage special pricing requests.
  • Track progress to the business plan and facilitate resolution to gaps.
  • Provide demand forecast inputs to S&OP.
  • Attend customer meetings in support of winning new business. 
     

Qualifications and Experience Required:

 

  • Working knowledge of Industrial product markets,
  • Strong commercial and marketing skills, including ability to derive insights from VOC,
  • Familiarity and experience leveraging a commercial tool kit, VOC, Market Segmentation, Strategic Pricing, Customer communication etc, 
  • Experience influencing others and getting things done through others,
  • Demonstrated evidence of success in an highly matrixed global environment,
  • Strong analytical, planning, forecasting and budgeting/financial skills,
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills,
  • The ability to manage multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes,
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent,
  • Previous experience in Sales, Marketing or Product Management,
  • Experience in the field of industrial electrical Connectors or Components ideally in the mentioned product areas is a preferred.
