SR MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

Job Overview

The Sr Manufacturing Engineer provides economical solutions to improve & create processes for the manufacture of bulk cable.  This position interacts with Quality, Operations Management, Manufacturing Process Development Engineering, Product Engineering, raw material suppliers and equipment manufacturers. This position is responsible for the industrialization, continuous improvement and process sustaining activities required of a high precision, high bandwidth product base

Primary Responsibilities, Tasks & Deliverables:
  • Process Development/Implementation/Documentation – extrusion
  • Assist with Development/Documentation – all other areas of cable manufacturing.
  • Manufacturing Equipment Specification & Design – Concept, Qualification, FAT
  • Tooling Specification & Design – Moldflow, SolidWorks, 3D printing
  • Interact with equipment & material suppliers to ensure specification/requirements are met.
  • Support Cost Reduction Initiatives in operation plants.
  • Support Six Sigma & Lean Activities.
  • Support Product Development/Design Engineering & Project Management
  • Provide Technical support for maintenance and fabrication
  • Interact with test lab on process/product qualification – DOE, FMEA
Job Requirements/Experience Necessary
  • Plastics, or Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred
  • Experience in a fast-paced specialty cable manufacturing a plus
  • Knowledge of plastic materials used in the manufacture of wire & cable a plus.
  • Knowledge of Extrusion Process or Plastics Processing a plus.
  • 20% Travel Required
