Job Overview

The Controls Technician will focus on Data Acquisition Development & Improvement. Machine Controls Development & Improvement. The candidate is expected to work with Process & Product Development Engineers as well as outside suppliers and contractors to improve on current equipment process controls, automation & data acquisition capabilities as well as develop new systems. The position requires that the candidate regularly interface with engineering, manufacturing, and product teams to guide and assist with daily operations.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

 


Primary Responsibilities, Tasks & Deliverables:

  • All Data Acquisition System Needs inclusive of System Specifications, Component Selection, Data Collection, Data Interface/Display, Data Reporting, Testing & Validation and System Documentation
  • Equipment Controls (Automation) inclusive of System Specifications, Component Selection, Controls Programming, Testing & Validation, Troubleshooting, Interfacing with OEMs & Outside Vendors and System Documentation
  • Support Technical Problem Solving & Lean Activities.
  • Interact with Manufacturing Process Development Engineers on process/product qualification activities.
  • Support all Product Development Activities as Needed
  • Support all Site Activities as Needed
Job Requirements/Experience Necessary
  • AS Electrical Engineering Technology, AS Electro-Mechanical Technology or AS Manufacturing Engineering
  • Competency with the following tools is required: PLC Programming and Data Acquisition Systems
  • Familiarity with Ladder Logic, Data Acquisition Software example: LabView 
  • Knowledge of motors, drives, sensors and actuators used in industrial applications
  • Knowledge of Wire & Cable Manufacturing Processes & Equipment a Plus
  • Connector and cable assembly knowledge is a plus
