TE Connectivity, Energy Business Unit is currently seeking an experienced Tendering Engineer to work within the UK and Ireland Sales function. 

 

You’ll work as part of our UK/Ireland Commercial team with a strong link to Account Managers, Customer Services, Technical Service Engineers, Supply Chain, and central EMEA functions like Product Management, Legal, Pricing and Supply Chain. In this role you will anticipate, prepare, and coordinate tenders from A to Z. This role requires good technical and commercial skills to underpin the bid strategy process led by the Account Manager.

 

What your background should look like:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and maintain reporting systems for tracking tender time lines.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the tendering process from receipt of PQQ through to submission of tenders.
  • To review customer documents and develop the tender proposal for the project.
  • To create bid cost model combining technical and commercial considerations for the bid.
  • Work closely with the Legal & Pricing functions within TE to analyse customer T&C’s.
  • Organise and coordinate activities and timings.
  • Define, compile and write tender proposal to the customer.
  • Coordinate pre-submission review with UK/Ireland Sales leads.
  • Support Account Managers during negotiations.
  • On successful contract award, prepare all the necessary handover documentation and coordinate handover processes to Account Managers, Customer Services, Product Management and Supply Chain.
  • Provide ongoing 'prior knowledge' support to internal functions once the contract is being executed.
  • Keeping up-to-date with current product designs by liaising with the Product Management / Engineering teams.
  • Perform Lessons Learnt exercise after each tender concludes to share and agree Best Practice within the team.
  • Actively seek to anticipate and mitigate problems/difficulties.

 

KEY EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, in a technical or business field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in tendering.
  • Data-driven, analytical & process mindset with significant attention to detail.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration capabilities / indirect leadership.
  • A high level of initiative.
  • Engineering background preferred.
  • Experience in Salesforce.com.
  • Clear and confident communicator.
  • Flexibility to assume workloads which necessitate adjustment of priorities.
