Manufacturing Engineering Intern

Job Overview

As a Manufacturing & Project Engineering Intern working on our Sustaining Project Engineering team, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Assist sustaining Project Engineering team with limited assignments (emphasis will be toward supporting engineering tasks relating to mold & assembly capacity expansion equipment/transfers)
  • May include supporting project feasibility studies working under direction MFG Engr/Sr PJM’s for capacity plans, business case financials, capital investment, machine concepts
  • Learn about process release of new equipment or transfer production equipment between locations
  • Support existing Projects & its set of execution tasks, as part of a cross functional core team. Examples: 
    • Floor layout DWGS, for specific machines & floor space requirements at existing plant
    • Database development to help reflect existing state plant machine work center capacities/bottle necks (streamlining the identification of other potential areas in need of capacity expansion/investment using data already available for existing sources) 
    • Monitoring the adherence to standards of recently launched new production equipment
    • Validation process of equipment to machine specification & product requirements
  • Work on special tasks to prepare reports on project lead-times, key performance indictors relating to project task execution health

What your background should look like:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited University or College for the duration of the Internship
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree Program, preferred Major(s): Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering, Project Management
  • Flexibility with performing a wide range of tasks, responding to changes in direction and priorities, and accepting new challenges/ responsibilities 
  • Listening effectively, transmitting information accurately/understandably to different audience levels
  • Experience with: MS Project, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Teams, Industrial Design/ Solidworks


  • This position will be located at our Tullahoma, TN site.
