Job Overview

Reporting to the Vice President, Global Quality, Customer Experience and Business Process TEOA, the TEOA Director for Engineering will provide global leadership to deploy TE’s lean business system, TEOA,  across the engineering function for all business units.  By partnering with engineering leaders / executive sponsors and working with TEOA teams the individual in this role will accelerate process improvement and development of TEOA culture to enable ECE and business growth.  As an engineering and TEOA subject matter expert, this person will coach and mentor individuals and teams, guide leadership and influence across adjacent functions to create a competitive advantage for TE through world class engineering effectiveness. The individual who is successful in this role will be positioned to move into a regional/global engineering leadership position within a TE business unit if desired.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the development of TEOA deployment plans consistent with business unit, segment and corporate goals  
  • Support, mentor and develop TEOA practitioners and others engaged in TEOA implementation at the BU and site level to enable them to succeed in TEOA deployment
  • Monitor and drive improvement activities to support BU achievement of key KPI goals
  • Driving the development of an Engineering Function integrated transformation strategy (People, Process and Technology) and coordination of regional and global initiatives to improve effectiveness and efficiency
  • Define and adapt TEOA principles as needed to enable adoption in an engineering environment
  • Create visibility of TEOA adoption progress at site, BU and functional levels and resolve roadblocks as needed
  • Partner with the engineering communications team to share successes/best practices and inspire engagement in TEOA across the enterprise
  • Support strategies and initiatives to enable achievement of strategic goals for the company as a member of the Engineering Council
Candidate Profile
  • 10+ years’ experience in new product development and engineering leadership positions
  • Proven “change agent” capability with experience driving lean process and organizational transformation across multiple functions and levels within the organization
  • Strong business acumen with the ability communicate in the language of the business and align continuous improvement activities and initiatives to maximize impact
  • Experience capturing voice of the customer and translating customer needs into process improvement priorities
  • Executive presence, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop a shared vision, inspire and problem solve as a team to achieve the highest possible performance
  • Exceptionally strong drive, sense of urgency, energy level and problem-solving abilities 
  • Strong track record of delivering results 
  • Business Acumen:   Key to success in the role is the ability to communicate in the language of the business.  A strong business acumen will enable the TEOA leader to guide the team as they focus TEOA efforts to achieve breakthrough goals identified from voice of business and voice of customer efforts.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred
