The Opportunity

Join TE Connectivity's innovative Passive Optics organization as an Technician II and play a critical role in developing the next generation of optical connectivity solutions powering AI, cloud computing, and hyperscale data centers. You'll work alongside engineers and manufacturing teams to build, test, troubleshoot, and optimize optical systems, prototypes, and automation equipment that enable industry-leading optical interconnect technologies.

Job Requirements

Optical Assembly & Testing

• Optical System Preparation: Assist development teams with cleaning and inspecting optics and other precision parts

• Fiber Optic Handling: Prepare, ribbonize, splice, and test optical fiber and connector assemblies. Prepare products for final packaging.

• Testing: Become trained on performing insertion loss, return loss, and other final QA checks on final product

• Documentation: Follow and help revise work instructions, assembly procedures, and fillin production records.

What your background should look like

Essential Qualifications

• Education: high school degree, technical certification, technical training, or relevant experience in optics, photonics, electronics, engineering technology, manufacturing technology, or related fields.

• Experience: 1-2 years of experience in  with hand-on assembly and testing of delicate or high-precision parts.

• Computer Skills: Experience using standard software tools for documentation, data collection, and equipment operation.

Core Technical Competencies

• Fiber Optics Knowledge: Familiarity with fiber optic connectors, ferrules, cables, polishing processes, cleaning methods, and inspection techniques.

• Precision Assembly: Ability to work with small components requiring high levels of attention to detail and precision.

• Technical Documentation: Ability to follow, interpret, and propose improvements to procedures and test instructions.
