Job Overview

TE Connectivitys Energy Division offers products for joining, terminating, insulating, and protecting power systems for the electrical power industry. It supplies over 90% of the world’s largest energy utilities with connectivity products that are reliable, trusted and stand the test of time, even in the harshest environments and the world’s most remote locations.

The material supply manager has a key role to secure availability of materials to run production in Swindon and Witham plants (impacting delivery to Ottobrunn, Szczecin and RRL). In current environment, TE is facing various deliveries issues from its vendors and sub-suppliers impacting material availability. The issue is mainly with raw material shortages on global market and generally extended leadtimes.

The planner needs to run weekly delivery meetings with key suppliers to understand next 13 weeks delivery plan and next 18 months delivery situation (e.g. Momentive, BIW, Leeser, Berwin).

The planner will actively manage alternative material usage and transitions together with R&D, purchasing, planning, engineering and production.

•    Review backlog from external vendors and escalate missing parts – update the ERP system

•    Follow up deliveries from critical suppliers – with suppliers and internal/external traffic teams
•    Manage premium freight for direct supply and sub-supply
•    Analyze demand versus vendors’ capacity and raw mat supply and propose pre-buying when necessary
•    Anticipate stock outs
•    Run 18 months material forecasting for key materials/suppliers (Witham, Swindon) and manage long term material forecasting in between Ottobrunn and Swindon
•    Responsible to review and define safety stocks
