Sr. Manager Global Direct Labor - Talent Attraction

TE's Talent Attraction (TA) team attracts and engages the best, diverse talent - reinforcing our SET principles (Strategy, Execution, and Talent) - to drive innovation and value for our customers in all markets. TA operates through four key imperatives: Diversity Recruiting Strategy, Executive Search Program, Talent Delivery, and Talent Intelligence.

This team utilizes services from our Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) partner, contingent  agencies, retained executive search partners and leverage branding, diversity, university, analytics, and competitive intelligence partners. 



This is a dynamic, critical and first of its kind leadership position within Talent Delivery, specifically in the area of Direct Labor. This new role has been created to support TE’s need for recruiting excellence to fill ~20,000 direct labor (production/manufacturing) positions annually, across 49 countries and over 100 key sites.

This leader will be responsible for developing and executing a global direct labor strategy, to transform how we attract, assess, and select direct labor globally. This strategy will need to include support staff, technology, process, operations, supplier partnerships (RPO, MSP, Temp), analytics, and close partnerships with our manufacturing and operations organizations across 16 distinct global business units.

Key objectives for this role will be to link our Sales & Operations Planning to Labor Demand Planning, streamline processes, and apply best practices to most effectively ensure continuity to our manufacturing sites. This position will need to display a high degree of global market knowledge, and understanding of localized challenges and opportunities related to branding, compensation, work environment, role requirements, and skill requirements. For Direct Labor, this role champions talent intelligence internally and externally by being in-tune with trends, markets, customer programs, ramp-ups, and competitors in our industry. 


  • Drive operational performance of suppliers and partners which include RPO, Contingent Agencies, Executive Search Partners, Market Research, and Competitor Intelligence
  • Expert in talent movement, availability and opportunity in our competitor landscape; brings forward recommendations in how to capitalize on identified opportunities.
  • Deeply understands our global business operations in areas such as sales & operational planning (S&OP), strategic workforce planning, and customer programs, so we can predict talent demand and resource our teams, with the goal of continually improving our KPIs.
  • Develop and manage our talent assessment strategy for internal and external hiring, use assessments as a tool for skill, behavior, and culture alignment, while demonstrating ROI and validity.
  • Research our competitive talent landscape by understanding recruiting and labor opportunities, partnerships with organizations to offboard/acquire talent, collect and categorize market intelligence, and leverage partners than can help us improve our market position to attract the best talent in an array of geographies, levels, and functions.
  • Collaborates with talent acquisition leaders (globally) to develop pipelines of talent to meet the strategic succession planning needs of the business.
  • Clear understanding of the company’s vision and goals.
  • Analyze data driven recruitment trends for TE’s overall hiring strategy.


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience working in human resources, organizational development, talent assessment, talent acquisition or other relevant role
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, specifically in leading a direct labor recruiting strategy, across a global footprint
  • Demonstrated experience with working collaboratively across businesses within a highly matrixed organization and achieving excellent results 
  • Demonstrated experience contributing, implementing and executing on thoughtful project; Recruiting strategies and them methodically working those projects to successful completion
  • Highly comfortable using data to drive decision making and measure success
  • Outstanding communication skills and track record of building alignment amongst cross-functional partners to drive initiatives
  • Comfort working in high growth companies with high levels of ambiguity
  • Ability to effectively lead and execute many projects and tasks in parallel
  • Ability to influence various teams without direct reporting structure
