Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

TE’s Automotive Transportation Solutions’ Manufacturing and Process Development Engineers are responsible for developing and industrializing ¬ manufacturing processes for new and existing products. The duties include reviewing the latest automation and software technologies, most recently including AI (Artificial intelligence) and AGV’s (Automated Guided Vehicles).  Duties also include the process development for assembly of connector components, cable assemblies, test methodologies for complex value-add assemblies, present innovative ideas to solve complex manufacturing problems and input on new products designs to reduce costs and increase overall manufacturing efficiency. 

What your background should look like:

 

•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering/Technical field.
•    5 + years of experience in manufacturing process development and PLC programming for high mix low volume/ low mix high volume products.
•    3+ years of direct experience with process development, Programming, and manufacturing in the Automotive industry.
•    Experienced in the development of lean automation manufacturing systems incorporating flexible and modular automation.
•    Knowledge of Quality Systems and Problem Solving.
•    Experience with implementation of automated equipment in a production environment.
•    Excellent communication and presentation skills - verbal and written. Should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences. Bilingual with Spanish is a plus.
•    Travel: up to 20%- international and local. Potentially with extended trips lasting 2-4 weeks.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $102,600 - $153,800 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
