Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE. The applicant must demonstrate a working knowledge and understanding of lab processes and procedures. This position requires the applicant to be well organized and self-motivated while working under minimum supervision. The applicant should be mechanically and electrically knowledgeable. The applicant must have a common knowledge of series and parallel circuits. Experience with hand soldering and general hand tools is helpful. Applicants must have problem solving and critical thinking skills while working under demanding customer deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Capacity to read and interpret industrial standards such as USCAR, SAE, IEC, etc. Monitor tests per specifications, troubleshoot test set-ups, Recognize and understand failure modes, document all pertinent data.
- Prepare samples for testing, measuring, wiring, and soldering. Have the mechanical ability to assemble and modify complex test fixtures. (Mechanically Inclined)
- Have the electrical ability to understand and troubleshoot DC circuits. Comfortable working with and around current levels up to 1000 Amps.
- Perform initial, interim, and final measurements. (i.e. electrical, temperature, sealing integrity checks).
- Aptitude to build and grow a “TRUST” relationship with our customers.
- Must be able to collaborate closely with team members but also be able to work independently.
- Maintain accurate and timely updates on test progression and test schedules. Meet committed completion dates.
- Maintain a clean and organize working environment.
- Must be able to multitask multiple test programs at one time.
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs or ladders, kneel, crouch, and lift test fixtures up to 35 lbs regularly. The working environment can be very noisy and hearing protection will be needed.
What your background should look like:
- Must be enrolled in the Forsyth Technical Community College Learn and Earn Apprenticeship Program (LEAP).
- Experienced with, voltmeters, thermocouples, and standard hand tools.
- Capability of creative, analytical, and structured thinking with the ability to execute.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication & presentation skills (oral & written).
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word & Excel).
- Good soldering skills and manual dexterity.

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $43,100 – 64,600 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
