Job Overview
We’re looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented technician with basic electrical and mechanical knowledge. You should be organized, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and follow lab procedures and safety rules.
- Read and apply technical standards (like USCAR, SAE, IEC).
- Set up and monitor tests, troubleshoot issues, and record results.
- Prepare test samples by measuring, wiring, and soldering.
- Build and adjust test equipment (must be mechanically inclined).
- Work with DC circuits and handle currents up to 1000 Amps.
- Take measurements (electrical, temperature, sealing checks).
- Communicate clearly and build trust with customers.
- Work well both independently and with a team.
- Keep test progress and schedules up to date.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Handle multiple tasks at once.
- Be physically able to lift up to 35 lbs and work in a noisy environment.
What your background should look like:
- Must be enrolled in the Forsyth Technical Community College Learn and Earn Apprenticeship Program (LEAP).
- Experience using voltmeters and hand tools.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Good soldering skills and steady hands.
- Clear communication (written and verbal).
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel).

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $37,600 – 56,300 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
