Job Overview
Winston Salem NC prototype development shop is looking for a highly motivated Tool Maker to become a part of our team. Candidate should be detail orientated and capable of safely working in a team environment. Primary responsibility is to produce product protypes for the Automotive connector industry. Candidate must hold one of the following. An associate degree in machining technology, a Certified Journeyman Certificate and/or 6 years of tool making experience.
Candidate will be producing or modifying prototype samples, fixtures, gages etc. through use of shop equipment. Part of the workflow to accomplish these tasks will require the candidate to independently design and fabricate tooling for metal forming or various fixturing to hold components for alterations. Candidate should be capable of using of 3D modeling software to accomplish this. Creo, Mastercam or Esprit preferred but not required.
What your background should look like:
- Proficient in print reading and geometric tolerancing.
- Proficient on all standard machine shop equipment. Mills, lathes, grinders
- Capable of machining to tight tolerances ±0.0002”
- Programming and running CNC milling/turning centers
- Programming and running of Wire and Plunge EDM
- 3D modeling software, Creo, Mastercam, Esprit
- Understanding of metal forming a plus
- Basic MS office software

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $75,600 – $113,400 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
