The Automotive Americas business is looking for a Director of Program Management to lead a team of project managers for key OEM programs. This role is influential across the business to drive accountability and alignment. There's a strong preference for this position to be located in our Troy, MI or Winston-Salem, NC offices. A blended/hybrid work arrangement may be possible for the right candidate. Relocation assistance available for the right candidate.
Responsible for leading a cross functional team to deliver major customer programs within budget and time limitations, in accordance with technical specifications, and in fulfillment of profit objectives. Manages a customer program (a customized engineered solution (or product(s)) for a particular end customer platform) from bid preparation through release to production. Duties include: develop budgets and schedules to meet contractual/project requirements; assemble cross-functional program team with members from engineering, procurement, sales, production, materials management and quality; serve as the main point of contact for the customer for all negotiations, decision making, scheduling issues, and problem solving throughout the program; monitor and report performance against plans to ensure that contractual, cost and schedule objectives are met; arrange modifications as required.
The Director of Program Management will have responsibility over all Tier 1 programs and projects in Automotive Americas related to the OEM i.e. but not limited to:
- NPI Project Management: responsible of cross functional engineering projects with the goal to introduce new products. They work with Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across TE to assure projects meet financial, schedule and customer expectations. They are responsible for defining and creating project schedules, portfolio management, communication, and execution of programs, identifying resource constraints and working with management for resolution, while adhering to LeanPD processes.
- Sustaining Project Management: Responsible for implement changes occurring to exist products with objective of improving quality, reducing cost, or other.
- Advanced Development Project Management: responsible for developing an advanced product capability, process or technology that can be transferred to internal customers to improve the performance or cost of multiple new or existing products.
- Localization Project Management: Responsible for the implementation of and transferring of existing products into the region
Responsibilities
- Planning, budgeting, staffing, of the OEM Programs
- Proactively work with all functions in managing/ securing resources for the effective completion of programs and projects
- Manages risk and compliance across the portfolio
- Contributes to defining operational strategy for PMO
- Aids the PMO in the identification and implementation of program and project management processes, methods, tools, guidelines, and standards to establish a stable framework that supports all project teams and stakeholders to successfully deliver projects
- Aids the PMO in the creation and improvement of policies, procedures, and tools to establish consistent application of program and project management principles across all projects
- Provides regular health checks of the portfolio to all stakeholders
- Enabling and Mentoring a high performing team, with clear focus on talent development
- Partners with Sales and Product Management in defining appropriate products that meet our customer expectations, market share, and margin
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement in PMO, Lifecycle and business processes
- Achieve On-Time Delivery program performance objectives and report out progress
- Drive team to improve program schedule, cost, and quality metrics
- Resolve program conflicts and establish escalation path on all projects
- Clearly communicate roles, expectations, and accountabilities to all team members on a regular basis
- Promote best practices in program and project management
What your background should look like:
- Bachelor’s and/or graduate degree in Engineering, Science or Business
- Formal program and project management education and/or PgMP/PMP certification
- l0yr+ Program and Project Management Experience with successive responsibility in leading team of PMs
- Strong communication and presentation skills, at all levels of the organization and to external business partners
- Financial Intelligence including evaluation of projects and business cases
- High level of competency in project, program, and resources management
- Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies
- Good working knowledge and experience with connector, harness or integrated systems or manufacturing processes (injection molding, plating, stamping, machining, etc.)
- Experience at tier-1 automotive supplier or OEM supplier is preferred
- Knowledge of general automotive APQP process
- Strong change management / transformation expertise
- Experience with project management software and techniques such as Microsoft Pro
- LEAN or Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience
- Global work experience, working across regions and cultures
- Experience leading global teams, including matrix assignments
- Experience across multiple businesses, division and/or technologies that cross regional boundaries
- Experience in leading an organization in a complex, matrix environment
- Fluent in English; both written and spoken
- Spanish and/or Portuguese a plus
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Culturally sensitive
- Ability to travel within the Americas region when required to support program objectives

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience:$164,200 - $246,400 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
