Job Overview



TE Connectivity's Quality Control and Reliability Teams ensure product and / or product components comply with specifications and quality standards. They test and inspect products against performance and integrity criteria to ensure product quality and reliability, and to determine the suitability of product release.


The purpose of this position is to coordinate the activities of Quality Inspectors who perform and record inspection and test verifications on cable, components, and assemblies as required by various documentation, to perform and train personnel on those processes, and to collect and analyze data to support product and process improvement.


Essential Functions: 

  • Supervises Inspectors I, II & III.  Both at incoming inspection and through out the manufacturing process.
  • Trains inspectors, machine operators and assembly personnel in various inspection procedures and techniques.
  • Responsible for meeting schedules and prioritizing Quality Inspection workload.
  • Applies and trains personnel in sampling techniques.
  • Trains on and applies standard metrology principles.
  • Identifies inconsistencies or errors in product documentation and supports quality and engineering by providing input for inspection documentation.
  • Performs and records inspection on cable, components and assemblies as required by various documentation, and oversees other Inspectors in doing the same.
  • Plans inspection activities to achieve production goals on time.
  • Supports Value Streams in designing inspection process flow to reduce process time and reduce reliance on final inspection.

What your background should look like:



  • Full knowledge of Inspection area.
  • Four or more years of experience in supervising employees.
  • Training or experience in optical measurement.
  • Experience or training in metrology; ability to assist quality and engineering in metrology planning.
  • Experience with multiple inspection situations, including prototypes and first articles.
  • Understanding of complex electrical test equipment and mechanical measurement tools for trouble shooting.
  • Experience or training in Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
  • Excellent math and statistical skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience is using Minitab or similar statistical tools for data analysis.
  • Working conditions include generally light physical exertion, may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time, repetitive movement may be integral to tasks, exposure to solder fumes, sharp implements, heat generating equipment, electrical and mechanical inspection equipment and equipment with high-voltage potential and working with hazardous materials such as solvents and adhesives.
