You will have the opportunity to join the extrusion department in Wilsonville’s growing heat shrink tubing value stream.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Be the technical lead in the extrusion department
- Set-up and run extrusion equipment for polymer tubing
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems
- Train and certify new operators
- Audit performance of the department
- Provide feedback to operators on their performance
- Review and redline procedures for improvements
- Define process parameters in collaboration with engineering for development parts
- Collaborate effectively with others across the organization to collectively achieve business objectives
- Communicate effectively through written, verbal, non-verbal, and visual methods to achieve results
- Adhere to quality and compliance standards to ensure safe and effective use of TEs products
Other Duties
- Perform basic preventive maintenance on machines
- Clean and maintain tooling
- Data collection and basic analysis at the direction of engineering, such as SPC
- Execute equipment qualifications
- Participate in improvement projects such as kaizen events
- Other tasks assigned by manager or requested from engineering
What your background should look like
- Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience and training, advanced math and technical course work preferred
- Minimum five-year experience operating extrusion equipment
- Demonstrated ability to develop process settings for development parts
- Demonstrated problem solving skills in support of manufacturing operations
- Demonstrated ability to train and certify operators
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results as a leader of small teams
- Experience using software programs such as Word, Excel, Teams, PLM, and SAP is preferred
- Medical device manufacturing experience is a plus
