Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Maintenance Teams perform repairs and preventive maintenance to ensure longer lifespan of machines and facilities. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.  The schedule for this opening is from Sunday to Wednesday from 6:00am to 4:30pm.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

•    Provide maintenance support to high volume production operations in the heat shrink tubing and thermoplastic extrusion areas.

•    Install, start up, and shut down equipment by company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements. (Lock Out Tag Out)

•    Investigate, troubleshoot, and repair production machinery. Work on complex assignments with limited supervision.

•    Assist with maintaining the spare parts inventory. Requires researching, ordering, and maintaining records of parts and supplies.

•    Perform work from directions in the form of verbal instruction, blueprints, or sketches with limited to no supervision and create all required documentation. 

•    Perform routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) on machines and equipment.

•    Lead and perform emergency repair efforts for all equipment in use.

•    On-time completion of scheduled tasks.

•    Review and make recommendations for Preventative Maintenance of machinery. Manage project planning activities for preventative maintenance program and coordinate scheduling activities with a cross functional team.

•    Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment and be able to interface and communicate with line operators to assist with repairs. Ability to aid, training, and mentorship to junior production and maintenance staff.

•    Professional, proactive, dependable, takes pride in work, and possesses the ability to manage time effectively. 

What your background should look like

 

  • Experience with troubleshooting electromechanical systems and controls systems (PLC).
  • Experience with polymer processing equipment (ex. Extrusion) recommended.
  • Ability to work one weekend day per week.
  • Ability to visualize parts of machinery to be maintained or repaired.
  • Ability to read/interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, visual aids.
  • Ability to get along with others and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to act independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to be innovative, creative and adapt to change.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the use of measuring tools, hand and power tools. Broad knowledge of operational procedures and tools.
  • Knowledge of and experience with MS Excel and MS Word
  • Bending, stooping, and /or remaining in a standing position for extended periods
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate objects to precise positions.
  • Applies knowledge, skills, judgment, and initiative to complete a wide range of difficult tasks. 
  • Requires a High School Diploma/GED and minimum 4 years of related experience or local equivalent.
  • AA Degree in a related discipline or local equivalent and 6+ years of related experience is preferred.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $66,200 – 99,300 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
