Job Overview

This is a level 2 position, requiring some minimal supervision.

The Quality Inspector performs basic to moderately complex quality inspections on products both within and at the end of the manufacturing process including recording, tracking, and reporting the results of the inspections and helping to implement corrective actions.

Essential Functions:

 

  • Performs and records complex in-process and final inspections.
  • Ensures that test techniques are applied to products in accordance with product drawings, test procedures and specifications.
  • Recognizes and suggests improvements to inspection documents.
  • Communicates potential inspection and team problems to the Inspection Supervisor.
  • Supports/performs training for inspection certification.
  • Assist operators to be aware of customer specifications and product requirements.
  • Understands and use various sampling and SPC techniques.
  • Responsible for meeting schedules as assigned by the Inspection Supervisor.
  • Responsible for quality level of work performed. 
  • Seek opportunities for personal growth.
  • Responsible for all day-to-day inspection duties including inspections, data entries, and verification responsibilities.
  • Capable of using complex test equipment and mechanical measurement tools for inspection. 
  • Capable of multitasking and following priorities.
  •  Works minimally with engineering and production personnel in troubleshooting and defining inspection criteria.

Job Requirements

  • 1-year minimum quality inspection experience or equivalent experience desired.
  • Cross-trained on multiple inspection processes and products, including prototypes, RMAs, and first articles.
  • Understands the use of complex mechanical test equipment and mechanical measurement tools.
  • Experience with various measurement devices (DCR, Hi-pot, Pull test…etc.)
  • Experienced in problem solving pertaining to products and processes.
  • Knowledge of sampling and Statistical Process Control Techniques.
  • Understands and follows standard procedures.
  • Basic computer skills including SAP, QP3, MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing warehouse environment, which may include:  generally light physical exertion, sit or stand for long periods of time, repetitive movement, must wear safety glasses, meet shop floor requirements and potential exposure to plastic fumes, heat generating equipment, and mechanical inspection equipment.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $43,100 – $64,600 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
