Account Manager IV - Photonics (Remote)

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Industry Sales Teams manage sales to a specific industry, targeting customers with specialized knowledge regarding demand and future outlook of that sector.

The TE Sensors (TES) business unit of TE Connectivity has an opportunity for an experienced Account Manager Photonics with technical and value selling skills. The AM will become member of a highly dynamic and motivated, skilled sales team selling the Photodiodes product portfolio (Avalanche and PIN) to the engineers of market leaders in LiDAR applications like machine vision, factory automation, smart city and range finding as well as in applications like test and analysis and optical encoders. This position will report directly to the Head of Sales Photodiodes and will be responsible to win market share and to grow our photodiode business in the North American market with focus on the Western half of the the US. The AM is collaborating with multiple other functions within the organization, particularly with Customer Care team, Product Managers and Field Engineers in developing and growing accounts across the America’s region. 



What your background should look like:

7+ years experience and proven track record of won projects in a similar job assignment (customized sensor sales, photonics, industrial automation, semiconductor technology)
At least BS degree (Master’s degree preferred) in industrial engineering or electrical engineering/ physics combined with an MBA or similar
Willingness to travel (50-70%) and a valid U.S. driver’s license
Candidates with experience in product management or engineering in the field of Photonics are preferred

•    Familiar with sales of dual use goods     
•    Ability to engage with and adapt the sales pitch to different customer interfaces: Development Engineers, Purchasing, Senior management
•    excellent Team player, communicator and troubleshooter

Job Responsibilities

Grow existing and develop new customers with our attractive photodiodes product portfolio of customized APD’s, PIN photo diodes, quadrant photodiodes, APD-/ PIN arrays and radiation detectors in a dynamic sensor market environment.


  • Win projects in focus applications like industrial LiDAR, factory automation, smart city, semiconductor equipment, safety and security, optical test and analysis.
  • Manage your own US key accounts and support sales colleagues within the NA territory. Engage in Identification of strategic photonics projects, clarification of feasibility, definition of specs and provision of all prerequisites to make an offer.
  • Lead and coordinate customer communication related to photonics NBO’s. 
  • Win strategic and attractive projects supporting our KPI’s based on your application experience, your product knowledge, your value selling skills, sensing market trends and your ability to promote your project throughout the company.
  • Team up with sales colleagues in the regions, product management, engineering and operations for best customer experience.

•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $107,200 – $134,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
