SHIPPER / RECEIVER II

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Shipping & Receiving Teams perform a combination of manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties. They use computer systems for tracking, logging, verifying and reporting incoming and outgoing shipments. They follow shipping practices and procedures, transportation routing, schedules and requirements. The Shipping & Receiving Teams receive incoming materials and prepare materials for shipment. They process freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents. They also route merchandise to destinations.

What you'll be doing....

As a Material Handler, you are responsible for;


•    Responsible for shipment of finished products and warehousing activities to include inventory of supplies needed, freight quotes and advance notification. Receipt of materials as needed, according to company policies and procedures. 
•    Gathers, verifies, scans, labels, packs/wraps, loads items and ensures shipment in a timely manner according to specifications and the applicable transportation method.
•    Ensures the orderly stocking and timely delivery of merchandise and the security and accountability of inventory, enabling materials to be available to meet production schedules and/or products are shipped as per schedule.  
•    Represent the Supply Chain team at meetings and coordinate problem resolutions
•    Maintain accurate shipping / receiving records
•    Partner effectively with Logistics teams to arrange shipment and pick up of orders 
•    Arrange customer pick up orders by working with various logistics teams. 
•    Ensures materials are received, unloaded and inspected securely and safely from delivery vehicles, compares items and quantities received against freight bills, vendor invoices, bills of lading, customer orders, manifests, or other records, documenting discrepancies; and that materials are delivered to inventory for storage. 
•    Escalates concerns or variances appropriately as needed to ensure timely delivery of products.  
•    Maintains records of damaged or defective items; records time, date, quantity, source, and destination of materials, including updating the purchase order system for receipts/shipments that are received, cancelled, or back-ordered. 
•    Participates in safety programs & lean manufacturing initiatives.
•    Participates in cycle counting and material handling activities for the plant to ensure inventory accuracy and maintenance
•    Evaluates the efficiency of existing shipping/receiving operational methods, processes, and procedures, and recommends improvements when necessary and updates management on all inventory issues on a regular and as-needed basis.
•    Hours may fluctuate and include overtime as needed.
•    Train others as needed. 
•    Other duties as assigned.

What your background should look like:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED
  • Computer skills – Working knowledge of computer systems used to process deliveries, MS Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally verbally and in writing. 
  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs occasionally unassisted
  • Forklift experience and the ability to obtain TE Fork Lift Certification
  • Strong attention to detail
