Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Machinist Team's responsibilities include, assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment. They work from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions, communicating directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

This position is available on our 4th shift which typically works Friday through Sunday; 6:00am-6:00pm.  Shift premium for 4th shift is 12% on top of the hourly rate.

Job Responsibilities

  • Visualize, comprehend and forward think the best machining practices necessary to complete part
  • Produce quality component parts by interpreting blue prints and following a production router, potentially running operations on a variet of machines including: cut off saw, manual or CNC mill, flat and/or form grinder
  • Hold tolerances as tight as .0002 for various components
  • Troubleshoot issues and work with appropriate resources (i.e. engineering, supervision, inspeciton, etc.) to resolve
  • Perform first-piece inspection using micrometers, calipers, height indicator, etc.
  • Comprehend shop math and be resourceful in deciphering dimensions, tolerances, angles, etc.
  • Effectively manage work time and be self-directed in order to meet production needs/schedules
  • Exhibit understanding, flexibility, and willingness to changing priorities and fast paced environments
  • Communicate effectively with peers, management and other internal departments
  • Adhere to all safety and attendance policies
  • Complete all quality documentation

Qualifications and experience:

Demonstrated ability to effectively handle job responsibilities as noted above.

· High School Diploma or GED required.

· Minimum of 3-5 years machine shop experience running various machine equipment

· Demonstrated knowledge of manual and CNC machining.

· Basic knowledge/comprehension of shop math

· Heat treat knowledge or experience a plus

Compensation and Benefits

Starting pay is $20.00/hour plus shift differential for 4th (12%) shift.  May be adjusted for experience.
