PRODUCTION MACHINIST II - Haas

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Machinist Team's responsibilities include, assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment. They work from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions, communicating directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

5th Shift - Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6 PM to 6 AM.   22% Shift differential. 

The Application Tooling Division of TE Connectivity is currently seeking one experienced and talented Production Machinist to join our team.  

Application Tooling is a worldwide engineering and manufacturing business unit that designs and manufactures application equipment, associated tooling and precision machined products for all markets.  

 Our Production Machinists’ support our tooling business by hands-on manufacturing our various product lines.  This position is located at our Waynesboro, PA facility.

  • Visualize, comprehend and forward think the best machining practices necessary to compete the part
  • Product quality component parts by interpreting blue prints, potentially running operations on a variety of machines, including:
    • Wire EDM
    • Cust-off Saw
    • Manual or CNC Mill
    • Flat and/or Form Grinder (primary assignment)
    • Appropriate Heat Treat method
    • Lathes
    • Hold tolerances as tight as .0002 for various components
    • Troubleshoot issues and work with appropriate resource(s) (i.e. Engineering, Supervision, Inspection, etc.) to resolve
    • Perform first-piece inspection using micrometers, calipers, height indicator, etc.
    • Comprehend shop math and be resourceful in deciphering dimensions, tolerances, angels, etc.
    • Effectively manage work time and be self-directed in order to meet production need/schedules
    • Exhibit understanding, flexibility and willingness to changing priorities and fast-pace environments
    • Communicate effectively with peers, management and other internal departments

What your background should look like:

Qualifications & Experience 

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years machine shop experience running various machine equipment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manual milling and grinding
  • Basic knowledge/comprehension of shop math
  • Heat treat knowledge or experience a plus
