Sustainability Manager

Job Overview

The Manager of Sustainability will lead, evolve, and manage the Automotive Business Units Sustainability program with a focus on execution of internal CO2 reduction and waste reduction initiatives. The role is responsible to align key sustainability initiatives and metrics across three regional business units and will ensure internal functional engagement. This role will support development and communication of overall Automotive, sustainability strategy. 

Main responsibilities:

  • Support TE sustainability strategy and develop the Automotive Business Unit sustainability strategy and plans,
  • Collaborate with EH&S, Operations, Engineering (PE & ME), Quality, and Logistics to ensure that common standards and KPI’s are adopted to achieve sustainability goals
  • Identify and drive sustainability best practices across regional business units and functions including, energy efficiency, renewable energy deployment, water and waste reduction, recycling, material compliance, logistics, and packaging.
  • Lead and support in sustainability projects / initiatives, and maintain a detail project management plan including project schedule, progress on deliverables, roadblock identification, and needs to complete deliverables on time
  • Support Engineering and collaborate with COE/ME as well as other function teams in the development of environmental life cycle assessments for products and processes
  • Establish programs and work with functional teams to meet customer expectations on sustainability
  • Communicate customer sustainability requirements across the regions and functions
  • Perform activities in accordance with requirements of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001 standards and applicable procedures. 
  • Monitor laws and regulations in the area of sustainability and waste management

 

What your background should look like:

  • Academic degree in engineering or related discipline
  • 7 years of experience in Quality. Engineering, or Sustainability roles
  • Strong interest and previous experience in environmental assessments and improvements in manufacturing plants
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to interface with customers, suppliers, TE stakeholders and senior management
  • Skilled in problem solving and conflict resolution
  • Fluent in English  German, French or Polish will be a plus
  • Mandatory knowledge of ISO Quality Standards 
  • knowledge of ISO standards (i.e. ISO14064) in the field of carbon footprint assessment, product life-cycle assessment, environment impact
  • Energy savings projects 
  • Deployment of renewable energies in manufacturing plants 
  • Self-motivated and able to make independent, informed, and prioritized decisions
  • Able to work in both individual and teamwork settings with minimal supervision
  • Ready and capable to take over partially or entirely the tasks from the plants when necessary
