PhD candidate: Manager Process Plating EMEA (m/f/d)

Job Overview

  • Technical and disciplinary leadership of the team at the site.
  • Development of new surfaces and processes for our product together with PE, Advanced Engineering and suppliers.
  • Implement new chemistries for new processes and process optimization.
  • Develop optimized ways to manufacture our parts on roll-to-roll, barrel plating, rack plating and other selective plating methods together with ME Plating.
  • Define and execute sampling and release processes for new and existing products/processes and new finishes of Advanced Engineering or CoE projects with all required process capability studies and verifications along with all required documentation and samples needed for qualification.
  • Perform R&R and handover to volume production team with all required training upon achievement of TEOA Star Level goals and product and process specifications.
  • Support PE, ME plating and die design with design reviews and process analysis for feasibility studies as well as precious metal consumption and plating rates. 
  • Focus all activities on achieving blue print performance of 100% for precious metal.
  • Member of CoE coating team and support new technology projects across all sites with focus on optimizing our coating processes in terms of series capability, precious metal consumption, coating speed and new surface development.
  • Support development projects from definition, coating lab testing, pre-production process development on the sample line, including capacity planning and leading the sampling team, to final process and handover to production on the final production coating line.
  • Ensure project schedule and budget of CoE and development projects.
  • Develop and optimize coating process specifications and release procedures.

What your background should look like:

  • Bachelor's/master's degree in chemical engineering/surface engineering
  • Several years of experience in relevant function
  • Experience in mechanical engineering & applied process engineering
  • Experience in project management
  • MS Office skills
  • Willingness to travel
  • Fluent in English
  • Guidance and leadership of project teamsd
  • Presentation skills
  • Detailed process knowledge to determine project need, benefits, schedule, and feasibility
  • Travel: 25%
