Job Overview

The Advanced ME Expert AUT EMEA is responsible for new Manufacturing Engineering technologies with focus on currently not in TE used processes and Manufacturing technology. In addition to this, the Advanced ME Expert AUT EMEA will review existing processes in- and outside TE and work together with TE’s  Product Engineering and production departments with the aim to reach maximum process stability, profitability and productivity. This role will closely cooperate with functions like PE, COE, Quality and Shop Floor.

Tasks Summary & Responsibilities

  • The role incumbent is the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Expert inside for ME for AUT EMEA
  • Provide best in class process knowledge and focus on Assembly
  • Provide best engineering and operational practices incl. digital capabilities and processes
  • Assure manufacturing readiness with focus on our new product portfolio (HEMS, Data Connectivity)
  • Interfacing to other TE teams and supplier in- and outside AUT EMEA

Summary and Responsibilities

  • Ensures that AUT EMEA is technically and technologically positioned to be a source of competitive advantage and is capable of delivering the short, mid & long-term technology / performance as needed by the business
  • Drive market analysis and market trends for processes and equipment (machines)
  • Drive alignment with PE, ME and production regarding future state of processes /roadmaps
  • Critically questioning the existing/running processes, tools and technologies to identify areas for improvement / new technology with focus on process stability, productivity and profitability.
  • Developing of new concepts and production in close collaboration with Product Engineering(PE) and Center of Excellence (CoE)
  • Ensures availability of right manufacturing competences for new products, processes and locations
  • Drives and supports building up of required competences in supporting departments
  • Responsible to continuously drive towards lean manufacturing through the elimination of redundancy and waste
  • Provide input to TE’s EMEA manufacturing strategy
  • Build and drive process teams to develop best concepts to produce our products.

What your background should look like:


  • Master Degree (Mechanical Engineering or other technical stream)
  • 10+years of experience in various Engineering or Process Development assignments. Automotive industry preferred.
  • Management experience in a engineering/production environment preferred
  • Excellent knowledge on additive manufacturing technologies
  • Very good knowledge on producing midsize and large volumes in a profitable manner
  • Excellent market and supplier knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge on future technologies
  • Bring a clear understanding of excellent solutions
  • Intensive experience on process optimization
  • Clear understanding of “State of the Art” and develope a vision out of that
  • Good Leadership skills
  • Open minded to drive change
  • Strong background in technical concepts and in machines / tools /production
  • Base knowledge of Operational Excellence and Lean tools
  • Fluent in English and German both written and spoken
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Culturally sensitive
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to convince
