Job Requirements
The UX Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for elevating the user experience across TE’s digital ecosystem, including TE.com, digital commerce, tools, and enterprise applications. This role leads a small team of UX and visual designers, partnering closely with Product Management, Engineering, Digital Strategy, and business unit stakeholders to deliver intuitive, scalable, and customer-centric experiences.
This manager specializes in translating complex ideas into clear, compelling, and actionable UX concepts through rapid prototyping, creative problem solving, and exceptional visual storytelling. They blend systems thinking, design rigor, and user-centered insights to transform business requirements into frictionless journeys that accelerate adoption, drive commercial impact, and strengthen TE’s digital brand. Beyond project delivery, this leader plays a critical role in maturing UX governance, design standards, research practices, and design operations across the enterprise. They help stakeholders visualize possibilities, align on direction, and make confident decisions that shape the future of TE’s digital products and services.
UX Practice Activation
Create low, mid, and high-fidelity prototypes that translate complex ideas into clear, compelling digital concepts.
Use rapid prototyping methods, including generative and agentic AI tools, to accelerate design cycles and improve decision-making.
Communicate systems, workflows, and experience options through clear visual storytelling tailored to diverse stakeholders.
Business Problem-Solving & Experience Strategy
Lead customer journey mapping and service blueprinting to uncover friction points, define business opportunities, and align cross-functional stakeholders on a shared understanding of customer needs.
Facilitate rapid ideation and solution-framing workshops that translate ambiguous business challenges into clear, actionable problem statements.
Synthesize insights from customer research, analytics, and business needs into clear visual artifacts.
UX/UI Design Leadership
Oversee creative direction and evolution of TE’s design system to ensure visual consistency, cohesion, accessibility, and scalability across digital platforms.
Translate complex requirements into elegant, user-centered designs that balance usability, brand identity, and technical feasibility. Leverage AI to create quick prototypes and productivity optimization.
Define success metrics for design system adoption and collaborate with front-end teams to maintain fidelity and performance.
Partner with engineering to maintain design fidelity and explore AI-enabled improvements in design-to-development alignment.
User Research and Testing
Prioritize and oversee user research that delivers actionable insights to inform design and product strategy.
Standardize testing and feedback mechanisms to capture and report meaningful user sentiment.
Mentor the design team in research methods, analysis, and synthesis to elevate customer understanding and decision-making.
Team Leadership & Management
Lead a high-performing UX design team through coaching, feedback, and professional development aligned with organizational priorities.
Set clear goals, manage performance, and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Champion responsible AI adoption within the UX practice to enhance productivity, creativity, and operational efficiency.
What your background should look like
Education & Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, Psychology, Human Factors, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in UX design and research, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and drive prototyping, concept visualization, and strategic UX initiatives across web, data, and product ecosystems.
Creative Solutioning and Concept Visualization
5+ years leading the synthesis and visualization of complex business and product challenges into clear, compelling prototypes, and experience concepts.
Proven ability to translate ambiguous requirements into elegant, rapid prototypes while partnering with strategists and business leaders to define problem statements and solution options.
Expertise in turning insights, constraints, and technical considerations into highly visual narratives that drive alignment and influence senior stakeholders.
Technical Design Expertise
Expertise with design and research tools including Figma, Zeplin, Miro, Adobe Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Dovetail, and Playbook UX.
Skilled in using data and insights to inform design decisions, optimize user flows, and measure impact.
Experience building and maintaining scalable design systems aligned with brand and engineering standards.
Strong understanding of DesignOps, atomic design systems, and responsive design frameworks.
Deep knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1+) and inclusive design principles.
Proficient in JIRA and agile workflows, with a track record of improving delivery efficiency and collaboration by leveraging AI.
Leadership & Strategic Capabilities
Demonstrated success defining UX practice frameworks, playbooks, and governance models that scale across large organizations.
Ability to align design, research, and data insights with business strategy and measurable KPIs.
Experienced in building cross-functional processes with IT, Product, and Development teams to integrate UX into product roadmaps.
Excellent communication, storytelling, and facilitation skills to influence stakeholders and advocate for the customer.

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications such as NN/g UX Master, Design Thinking, or DesignOps credentials are a plus.

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $117,700 – 147,100 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
