Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s internship program is designed to provide interns with real world experience to enhance classroom knowledge. Uniquely crafted assignments and meaningful projects provide interns with a challenging 10 – 12 week experience. Interns will gain exposure to senior leadership and be given professional development opportunities. At the end of the summer, interns will be provided the opportunity to pursue full-time placement within TE Connectivity.  


The Industrial and Commerical Transportation business unit is seeking a candidate for a Sustaining Product Engineering Intern for Summer 2019. This position will be located in Tullahoma, TN. 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Responsbilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:  

  • Provide on-going technical support, including review of changes, resolution of quality problems related to design and redesign projects to address issues of cost or manufacturability. Experience with 8-D’s and other root cause analysis tools.
  • Possesses and applies knowledge of Product Engineering principles, practices and procedures, including understanding of manufacturing technologies such as stamping, plating, molding, assembly and machine application.
  • To support Manufacturing and Quality functions.
  • Provide technical support to customers and Sales Engineers to ensure proper application of products in the field.
  • May need to act as a Development Engineering on product re-designs to ensure quality and manufacturability. Participate in launch team activities as needed.
  • Manage and/or collaborate with cross functional teams for cost savings, scrap reductions, manufacturing (OEE) improvements, and capacity process projects.

In order to qualify for this role, you must possess the following: 

  • Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0
  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar major 
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited University or College for the duration of the Internship
