What you will be doing....

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

The Equipment Technician, under minimal supervision, shall provide direct support to the production and equipment development projects. This position will include troubleshooting on a large variety of equipment and machinery, most of which has been custom designed and built in our facility.  This position requires you to provide Exceptional Customer Experience. TE Connectivity is a fast paced and highly successful manufacturing environment which requires working to the highest of quality standards on a day to day basis.This position requires a high mechanical aptitude, and computer literacy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: (Including but not limited to the following.)

  • Troubleshoot production equipment, report findings, acquire necessary parts and tooling, perform repairs.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other key stakeholders to develop new tooling, equipment.  Takes charge to keep project moving forward in a timely manner.
  • Uses ability as a skilled specialist to contribute to the development of new concepts and techniques - Resolves complex situations, issues, and tasks by taking independent action and a high degree of initiative; develops and applies creative / resourceful methods to completing work as appropriate.
  • Works on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues.   
  • Assist in assembly and development of production equipment, tooling and/or processes for a variety of products using knowledge of electronic controls, pneumatic actuators, mechanical systems, and operator interfaces.
  • Hands on transfer of manufacturing equipment to sister site(s) by providing initial support during commissioning process.
  • Work with external vendors in procurement activities and requisitions.
  • Assist in the development of new concepts/ or make improvements to existing equipment by providing drawing and schematics (embellish)
  • Work overtime and weekends when necessary
  • All other duties as assigned

What your background should look like...

  • Five years experience working with rotating equipment, mechanical drive assemblies, control panels and wiring in both CNC and manual machines.
  • Self motivated and able to work.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.  Adaptable to new situations, flexible with a “can-do” attitude.  Can take charge to keep projects moving forward and in a timely manner under minimal supervision.
  • Can design and document new tools as required with minimal engineering support.
  • Can effectively use MS Office Software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).

Nice to have....

  • Can perform repairs on energized high voltage (480 VAC) industrial control panels when necessary
  • Requires High School diploma, GED or local equivalent and 6 years of related experience
  • AA Degree in related discipline or local equivalent and 6 years of related experience is preferred
  • PLC Programming and Troubleshooting.

Wage Range $21 to $27 per hour depending on experience.
