Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Job Overview

 

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing Engineering Teams are process leaders for stamping, molding or assembly related topics, ensuring the processes are running at optimum levels for quality and output. The Teams also support Product Development in the selection and optimization of tools for piece part production and the selection of the most suitable manufacturing concepts relative to planned manufacturing quantities, quality requirements and manufacturing location. They act as interface between engineering and production to ensure manufacturability of new designs and smooth production ramp up as well as support the research & development teams to produce sample manufacturing equipment, product samples and prototypes.

 

Responsible for the industrialization of new manufacturing strategies (NPI) and potential production line transfers including the subsequent implementation and support at our manufacturing location in Toulouse. Lead productivity improvement of serial production processes incl. Conversion Cost Saving Initiatives and process yield improvement. Sharing of best practices within EMEA and Global ME Team. 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Lead, coach and develop the plant manufacturing engineering team
  • Validate acceptance criteria and capabilities of new manufacturing processes (ensure the quality of the process)
  • Optimize and adapt the production processes, considering EHS regulations, Quality and Cost. 
  • Drive and implement cost saving projects across the plant.
  • Participate in daily TIER meetings and coordinate communication and priorities between Production and ME team
  • Participate in product/process FMEA and contribute to the sharing of manufacturing best practices with the Manufacturing Development Engineering and Product Engineering department
  • Take part of NPI (New Product Introduction) teams and represent ME function from Concept to Production phase
  • Technical Project management for internal processes as well as new/incoming projects
  • Layout planification and documentation for equipment’s and production lines
  • CAPEX specification, technical follow up, steering of installation, spare part definition,...
  • Engineering change management (Inc. Calculation, costs billing, material and resources planning, etc...)
  • Support Quality Dept in the analysis of quality issues related to manufacturing processes and take part in the establishment of a continuous improvement approach.
  • Drive preventive maintenance and deployment of TPM
  • Follow-up and adapt manufacturing KPIs
  • Support Digital Factory implementation on site

About You:

 

  • Engineering degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, industrial engineering or similar education
  • 5-10 years of professional experience in a similar position preferably in the field of micro or sensor technology
  • Leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-supportive "drivers" of technical processes 
  • Analytical, structured, solution-oriented and precise way of working. 
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office package (Excel, PPT, PowerBi)
  • Customer-oriented (internal and external)
  • Proven knowledge of LEAN tools and problem-solving techniques (SPS, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, Red-X …) and analytical tools (MiniTab …)
  • Creative, innovative, "think outside the box"
  • Proactive and ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment 
  • French and English proficiency in spoken and written. 
  • Travel within EMEA (10-20%)
