Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Supply Chain Managers are responsible for the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials. They ensure the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at the established levels. They coordinate and integrate the flow of materials and information among suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and customers, identifying opportunities for improving efficiency, effectiveness and capabilities of the supply chain. Resources are focused on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through production processes, and the establishment of key performance metrics and benchmarks to monitor actual performance against goals.

The Global Supply Chain leader for the Materials, Wire & Cable will have worldwide responsibility for the value stream of this product family, including internal and external supply chains as well as governance of the Bangalore India plant in the Connectors value stream. Preferred location is in Swindon England, Tijuana Mexico or Redwood City California coincident with the plant locations.
 

Responsibilities

-Optimize the use of systems and tools within the facilities supporting these products to ensure that the appropriate processes are in place (and continually evolving) to advance the state of the art in supply chain planning
-Drive actions to lower lead times, reduce inventory and increase customer satisfaction measurements. Develop and implement delivery improvement initiatives to enhance product fulfillment satisfaction for HPG Products customers. Improving ship to original schedule and ship to customer request as well as reductions in average time of delay
  •Deploy strategies supporting the Business Unit’s free cash flow and Inventory Turns (DOH) targets
  •Data analysis and interpretation to identify improvement opportunities within the organization
  •Coordinate with individual plants to develop projects and strategies at each facility
  •Monitor global business adjustments and aligns regional inventory availability with production and sales requirements
  •Champion end to end kaizen activities to improve flow throughout the supply chain
  •Optimize parameters such as lot-sizing
-Drive the S&OP process across the plants particularly the supply review process
  •Work with global demand management team and product management team to understand forecasts and any strategic/tactical activities requiring support of supply chain
  •Champion the supply review process at the plants
  •Ensure inventory, labor, and capacity decisions are taken or escalated out of the supply review process
  •Determine constrained billings forecast along with associated inventory and hours forecast
-Champion master planning/scheduling activities
  •Champion processes and talent in the plants to manage the master planning & scheduling activities
  •Insure an operations/planning handshake on the load across the 13-week horizon
  •Review of any potential component shortages and appropriate actions
  •Review processes for optimizing schedule
    Segmentation of runners/strangers (ABC/XYZ)
    Review of scheduling and loading rules (product characteristics/sequencing to minimize set-up/changeover time)
    Partner with operations on improvement activities
-Optimize freight costs
  •Drive continuous reductions in freight cost as a % of sales
  •Utilize tools and information to analyze transportation mode and location options to determine optimal scenarios
-Partnership with strategic procurement.
  •Drive efforts to shorten effective lead times, reduce inventory and increase customer satisfaction measurements
  •Identify areas with requirements for improved vendor lead-times, VMI agreements, etc.
  •Prioritize activities with procurement for delivery improvement and inventory reduction
  •Work with procurement on processes for forecast sharing and improved end-to-end coordination
-Communicate with customer care, sales and product management
  •Escalation point for expedites, delivery issues for relay/contactors
  •Pro-active communication on capacity constraints, areas of available capacity, etc.
  •Coordination on strategic activities, top customer support, etc.
-Talent assessment and management of the supply chain organizations across the plants in this assignment.

Qualifications

-10+ years of experience in operations and or supply chain logistics and people management
-Experience using and/or implementing SAP
-Fluent in English, both written and spoken
-Working knowledge of all areas of Supply Chain, including Procurements, Logistics, Customer Service and Engineering
-Prior Planning and Buying experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with low volume / high product mix
-Demonstrate understanding of logistics, financial and operational performance data
-Experience using Microsoft applications
