Supervisor Manufacturing & Process Development
Job Overview
The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for the leadership, oversight, and management of process engineering functions. He must be active in leading employee engagement which; support initiatives to strengthen collaboration and efficiency to operations. Provides support for special projects, strategic planning, and participates in developing corporate and plant business strategies using Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S, Kaizen and Six Sigma philosophy. Launch of Manufacturing operations of the new product and the transferred ones. Support manufacturing operations of cable assembly, in term of industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering and new launches project management
Tasks and Responsibilities
− Plans and directs all aspects of engineering activities for affected projects.
− Ensures all engineering assigned projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization’s established policies and objectives.
− Leads the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency.
− Responsible for the development of equipment to aid in the manufacturing process.
− Lead preparation of manufacturing machinery specifications and procurement.
− Prepare installation drawings for machinery; assign installation to project team, and hire outside contractors as necessary.
− Perform trouble shooting, analyze defects, identify and implement corrective actions.
− Develop and perform qualification, verification and validation testing of equipment, test methods and processes.
− Participate in process redesign and line layout to accomplish Lean manufacturing cost reduction objectives.
− Implement and maintain statistical process control charts.
− Identify, source, procure, design or adapt machines, tools and equipment to fulfill production requirements.
− Reduce operator variability by designing and implementing fixtures and tooling.
− Develop and update manufacturing process instructions.
− Develop and update manufacturing process training materials.
− Support prototype and pilot production of new products, product changes, and enhancements in coordination with the Operations and Quality Compliance functions.
− Provide feedback to R&D engineering regarding design concepts and specification.
− Source and oversee outside vendors and consultants as required.
− Implement TEOA specific KPI and Reporting standards.
− Monitor OEE, Scrap rate and Line efficiency and lead action plans to enhance these metrics
What your background should look like:
- Engineer degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Experience managing a team of engineers.
- Familiarity with cable assembly and production processes is an advantage.
