Job Overview
Coordinates day-to-day planning activities, and organizes and oversees all the activities involved in providing tools and fixtures for production.
Job Requirements
1. Production Planning & Scheduling
• Coordinate daily and weekly machine loading for Milling, Grinding, EDM Sinker and EDM Wire machines.
• Prioritize jobs according production urgency and project deadlines.
• Balance workload between machinists and programmers.
• Monitor capacity utilization and identify bottlenecks.
2. Project Coordination (Molds & Inserts)
• Manage the execution timeline of new mold and insert manufacturing projects.
• Escalate delays and risks to the Tool Shop Manager.
• Maintain project status dashboards and action plans.
3. Shop Floor Execution Follow-Up
• Monitor daily production performance against plan.
• Review job progress and machine status.
• Ensure work orders are released and executed correctly.
• Follow up delayed operations and recovery plans.
4. Coordination of CAD/CAM Activities
• Prioritize programming requests.
• Ensure machining programs are available before machine start dates.
• Coordinate resources between programmers and machinists.
• Monitor programming workload and capacity.
• Support implementation of CAD/CAM best practices.
5. Resource Management
• Coordinate manpower allocation according to project priorities.
• Monitor machinist and programmer availability.
• Facilitate cross-training and flexibility development.
6. Materials & Procurement Follow-Up
• Monitor availability of steel, electrodes, standard mold components and consumables.
• Coordinate urgent purchases with procurement teams.
• Follow up supplier delivery dates.
• Prevent production interruptions caused by material shortages.
What your background should look like
• Bac + 4
Technical Knowledge
• Good understanding of mold and die manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of CNC Milling, Grinding, EDM Sinker and EDM Wire machining processes.
• Understanding of mold components, inserts, electrodes, steel grades and tooling materials.
• Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings, GD&T and 3D CAD models.
• Understanding of machining tolerances, surface finish requirements and manufacturing methods.
Planning & Coordination Skills
• Strong production planning and scheduling skills.
• Capacity planning and resource allocation knowledge.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams (machining, programming, design, quality and maintenance).
• Ability to identify bottlenecks and implement recovery actions.
Software & Systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Experience with production planning and scheduling tools.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as Creo, HyperMill, PEPS or equivalent.
• Ability to create and maintain KPIs and performance dashboards.

• 10–15 years of experience in Tool & Die, Mold Manufacturing, Precision Machining or Tool Room Operations.
• Experience coordinating machining activities for molds, inserts or spare parts.
• Experience working with multi-machine shops and multiple shifts.
• Experience managing KPIs related to productivity, machine utilization and delivery performance.
