PRODUCTION MACHINIST II - SURFACE GRINDING OPERATOR

OVERVIEW:

 

Responsible for the fabrication of Die and Mold tooling parts. Individuals must have high skills in surface grinder and knowledge to be able to instruct low level operator.

To ensure smooth operations, the ability to implement 5S and improve QCD is required.

 

RESPONSIBILITES:

 

  1. Ability to select the right grinding wheel for the workpiece.   
  2. Mount, dress, and balance grinding wheels.
  3. Can select the appropriate jigs. 
  4. Can select appropriate fixturing method using vise, sine bar, and magnet block.
  5. Understand machine specifications, part names and functions.
  6. Understand the names and functions of each part of the operation panel.
  7. Can perform basic operations.
  8. R can be molded.
  9. Angle can be molded.
  10. Angle and R can be connected.
  11. Understand the inspection items for daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, etc.
  12. Understand how to recover after an abnormal stop.
  13. Understand how to handle whetstones.
  14. Understand the composition of the grinding wheel.
  15. Understand the properties and characteristics of each material.
  16. Know the coefficient of thermal expansion for each material.
  17. Appropriate peripheral speed can be set.
  18. Can set appropriate stroke speed.
  19. Appropriate depth of cut can be set.
  20. Capable of processing hexahedrons.
  21. L-shaped steps can be processed.
  22. Grooves can be processed.
  23. Angle can be processed.
  24. Can be R-processed.
  25. Thin materials can be processed.
  26. Fine grooves can be processed.
  27. A dresser can judge clogging of the whetstone.
  28. The above processing can be performed with SKD11, aluminum, and copper.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • 5+ years’ experience and practitioner in the Surface Grinding
  • Drawing Study.GD&T
  • Stamping and Molding tool knowledge.
  • Tool Room Process and Tooling Knowledge
  • NCII is highly recommended for this position
  • Basic Computers, MS Office etc, SAP knowledge added advantage
