Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Machinist Team's responsibilities include, assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment. They work from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions, communicating directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

 

 

Responsible for the fabrication of Die and Mold tooling parts. Individuals must have high skills in Conventional Milling Machine. To ensure smooth operations, the ability to implement 5S and improve QCD is required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle.   
  • Control and adjust Conventional Milling machine settings (e.g. speed)
  • Load raw material or parts to Milling machine.
  • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools.
  • Can perform basic operations.
  • Test operation of machines periodically.
  • Fix issues that might occur during the shift.
  • Understand the inspection items for daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, etc.
  • Understand how to recover after an abnormal stop.
  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws.
  • Understand the composition of the Milling.
  • Understand the properties and characteristics of each material.
  • Set appropriate peripheral speed.
  • Set appropriate depth of cut.
  • Process grooves.
  • Knowledge of measuring instruments.

What your background should look like:

  • 3-5 years’ experience and practitioner in the Conventional Milling machine
  • Has stamping and molding tool knowledge
  • Drawing study, GD&T
  • Has tool room and tooling process knowledge
