DDN- An Equipment Technician's job involves maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting various machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime, often requiring knowledge of PLC, vision system, electrical-electronics, mechanical, pneumatics and safety protocols.
Job Requirements
- Conduct routine inspections and perform scheduled maintenance on equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, accurately identifying root causes.
- Repair or replace defective components to restore equipment to optimal operating condition.
- Perform preventive maintenance to extend equipment lifespan and minimize downtime.
- Interpret and work with electrical schematics, machine manuals, and other technical documentation to understand equipment operation and repair procedures.
- Support the installation, setup, and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring proper configuration and alignment.
- Connect and install cables, wires, and other components as required.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of daily maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment condition.
- Document issues encountered and corrective actions taken.
- Comply with all workplace safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Ensure equipment is operated safely and responsibly at all times.
What your background should look like
- Completion of at least a 2-year technical or technology-related course.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in equipment maintenance or a similar role.
- Working knowledge of PLC, vision systems, basic electronics and electrical systems, mechatronics, automation, and robotics.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literate, with proficiency in email, MS Office, and other communication tools.
- Ability to train and mentor newly hired technicians.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and other departments.
