DESIGN ENGINEER
Job Overview
Responsible for developing and implementing advanced tooling solutions to enhance precious metal plating techniques. This role supports the plating department by ensuring tooling design, fabrication, and installation meet production and safety standards, while contributing to cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
Job Requirements
- Develop and implement advanced tooling solutions to enhance efficiency and quality in precious metal plating processes.
- Design plating spot wheels and optimize tooling based on P-drawings.
- Lead pilot runs of new tooling systems to validate functionality and performance.
- Collaborate with design engineers to ensure compatibility with new product designs and minimize gold usage.
- Drive cost-reduction initiatives through tooling design optimization and precious metal conservation.
- Supervise documentation of mechanical design drawings and ensure proper usage and protection of company assets.
- Organize tooling inventory and maintain spare parts to support production needs.
- Support EHS management within the plating department and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Apply TEOA tools and principles to drive continuous improvement in daily operations.
What your background should look like
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a related field.
- Proficient in Pro-E, Creo, and AutoCAD software.
- Strong knowledge in tooling design, plating tooling for reel-to-reel processes, and cost-saving implementations.
- Experience in plating spot wheel design.
- Familiarity with precious metal usage optimization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective collaboration and communication abilities.
