Job Overview
This position is a key role in verifying and validating all chemical data, analysis, and solutions used in electroplating and/or surface finishing processes. Must ensure that the process is running within the defined control limit, drives continuous improvements, and observes environmental and safety regulations in the Plating shopfloor. Observe timely maintenance/calibration of laboratory tools and equipment for an accurate result.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Check the certificate of analysis and supervise the testing of chemicals during the Incoming process.
- Conduct verification during analysis of in-process chemical solutions to ensure conformance.
- Conduct experiments and lead the chemical analysis during DOE, evaluation, and validation runs.
- Perform complex research projects such as the development of a new method of analysis to enable control & improve the process.
- Maintain documentation related to all laboratory procedures.
- Provide chemical/ process performance report monthly or as required
- Participates in project execution and improvement activities (i.e., cost savings activities).
- Preparation of permits required by DENR and PDEA in purchasing chemicals; ensure that all permits are updated.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations (e.g., wastewater treatment, hazardous material handling) or any Environmental health and safety associated with his/her responsibilities.
- Supervise the laboratory in terms of chemical replenishment, chemical ordering and inventory, and chemical hauling/disposal.
- Troubleshoot chemical-related issues in plating lines and provide technical support to production.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Engineering to resolve plating defects and improve process reliability.
- Performs other duties that will be required as the workload dictates.
Qualifications:
- Educational Degree – BS Chemistry
- Professional Experience (years in what processes and functions) – 1+ years’ experience and practitioner in the field of Chemical Analysis
- Special Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills – Registered Chemist, Titration Method (Manual & Auto-titration), Basic Problem-Solving tools (7QC Tools, 8D, etc), and ICP Operation
- Other important things to note – Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office tools & Knowledge in SPC
