Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.


  • Design and test of antennas for various form factor consumer electronic IoT devices using computer simulation and experimental techniques.
  • Analyze project RF requirements in close cooperation with the customers
  • Working with customers, Mechanical Engineers and Manufacturing; Develop RF product specifications and define optimum technology for the antenna assembly.
  • Fabricate prototype antennas for testing
  • Work within a project design team to develop new antenna products; provide information and assistance as required
  • Write detailed technical reports for internal and external use
  • Set-up reliable and stable RF testing, assist manufacturing department to implement them on production lines; when required
  • Participate proactively in general RF procedure improvement and RF team process
  • Research latest antenna concepts in trade and professional journals to determine state-of-the-art antenna technology
  • Develop new antenna concepts.
  • Coaching of Antenna Design Engineers for Design and Manufacturing.

What your background should look like:

  • Bachelor of Science – Electrical Engineering specialised in RF/Antennas
  • Masters of Science (preferred ) – Electrical Engineering specialized in RF/Antennas 
  • 5-7 years of experience in antenna design for consumer electronics.
  • Antenna impedance measurement experience (Agilent or R&S)
  • Antenna radiation and TRP/TIS measurement experience (Satimo or ETS preferred)
  • Experience in EM simulation software, such as HFSS or CST
  • Deep understanding of the antenna theory and the use of RF parameters
  • Prototype design and fabrication
  • Strong Customer Interaction
  • Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, Powerpoint)
  • Experience with Creo mechanical 3D design tool
  • Japanese and English, written and spoken level.
