BDM Solar Connectivity Solutions

Main Responsibilities

 

TE Connectivity (TE) is looking to hire a business development manager for TE’s solar connectivity solutions (i.e. solar panel connectors, customized trunk bus solutions and medium voltage cable accessories).

 

Your role will be to promotion of TE’s next generation connectivity solutions for large scale solar power plants. Your main responsibilities in this capacity will be:

 

Business Development

  • Coordinate all Solar business development related activities in TE’s Asia sales region (with focus on ROC Taiwan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, South Korea) with the local account managers and our regional sales management.
  • Develop and execute a compelling GTM plan and identify, approach and convince main stakeholders in the PV market (EPCs, Industry Associations, Consultants, Project Developers, Standardization bodies) to open up the market to our next generation of utility scale solar connectivity solutions
  • Engage in the regional solar energy / PV market with the purpose of establishing new customers as well as identifying and converting incremental business opportunities.
  • Build and manage a network of strong working relationships with existing and new key customers to continuously facilitate the development and execution of a tailored CVP for each customer.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of the solar market /industry in Asia sales region, conducting technology and market analysis to support TE’s strategic marketing and product development processes.

 

Marketing & Sales Support

  • Support the regional sales team to create a pipeline of solar business opportunities and to take over new accounts after CVP has been established.
  • Work with Internal TE teams (Engineering/Product Management) to develop compelling industry presentations for existing and new products and develop sales pitches that clearly target our client’s needs, concerns and objectives.
  • Develop annual solar sales plan together with the regional sales management, accurately forecast sales conversions and drive actions to ensure the achievement of forecast.
  • Manage international direct accounts and ensure their revenue targets are achieved
  • Actively support and take part in industry fairs, exhibitions, seminars and other sales initiatives
  • Support product customization and new product development to assure that TE products and solutions are meeting and anticipating market needs and are addressing market trends
  • Lead cross functional capture teams for large tenders and proposals ensuring that TE is properly positioned prior to tender/proposal release and that winning strategies are defined.
  • Ensure that sales processes and CRM tools (Salesforce) are fully applied and regularly maintained as per the requirements of the Energy Business Unit.

Educational and Technical Qualification

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S/B.A.) Commerce, Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Fluent in English (Full professional proficiency)
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

 

Knowledge and Experience

 

  • Experience of 5-10 years primarily in a client facing role.
  • Understanding and firsthand knowledge of the economics, value chain and involved share- and stakeholders in large scale solar projects
  • Understanding of related regulatory frameworks and their implications on the PV sector.
  • Preferably experience in business development

  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building strong relationships across multiple levels of customer organisations
  • Strong negotiation skills with problem-solving attitude
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently and planfully towards set goals.
  • Willingness to work and travel internationally (provided COVID situation allows travel) within the Asia sales region, following the hotspots of the solar business (i.e. ROC Taiwan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, South Korea)
  • Ability to understand and analyze sales and marketing metrics
  • Ability to anticipate and understand customer requirements and match those requirements with appropriate products and/or solutions.

  • Company Travel and Expense card associated with the role.

  • None on the date of hiring. (Potential expansion of a regional solar sales team depending on traction of business development activities)
