PRINCIPAL FIELD APPLICATIONS ENGINEER (Hybrid)

Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Field Application Engineering Teams work intimately with customers to recommend products and solutions for new and existing applications. They identify new applications, requirement modifications and enhancements to meet customer specifications and conduct on-site installation and service of product and manage all technical aspects of the sales cycle for potential application of company products to meet customer needs, including identifying opportunities; determining solutions; creating demand; preparing detailed product specifications and technical marketing; ensuring high quality and timely project execution and conducting follow-up technical support. They also approve operational quality of systems and equipment.

Our Field Application Engineering (FAE) teams scout the field (Traditional and new customers) seeking new or unique product applications to manage changes in vehicle architecture for Low voltage and Safety Systems view. This includes familiarity with integration for ADAS features, inside the device connectivity, 48 volt architecture, headlamps, and connector termination. 
In this role you will: 
•    Develop a cross-customer and cross-product line perspective
•    Deep digging for application to manage business development opportunities and technical development
•    Apply technologies and products in different applications with systems solutions capability.
•    Seek unique/critical/strategic applications for our products to solve customer gaps.
•    Determine the customer's strategy and technology roadmap, the competition and trends, and apply this knowledge to bring TE solutions.
•    Attend industry conferences and scout technologies and applications to stay current.
•    Be a catalyst and inputter in the innovation/technology pipeline road mapping.
•    Analysis of customer requirements and represent customer dialogue accurately, for interpretation and achievement of best technical solutions.
•    Influence solutions and RFQ. Technical linkage between customer location and remote TE sites.
•    Working knowledge of applicable technical standards for implementations of new connectivity solutions.
•    Develop requirements and communicate with development engineering.

What your background should look like:

 

  • Bachelors Engineering (Masters preferred)
  • 10 + years of related experience
  • Preference for candidates with experience in Automotive
  • Good market trend analysis and technical background
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English mandatory).
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
  • Strong organization and project management skills.
  • Excellent people management and communication skills. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software.
  • Travel: 10% to 25%

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $138,320 - $207,480 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
