Job Overview

Do you have an aptitude for driving advancement needed for EVs? If so, TE Connectivity has a great opportunity for an experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager to support our growth in the high voltage segment.

The Strategic Sourcing manager, as the launch leader, will manage all aspects of the sourcing process related to new product introduction for our high voltage connector, terminals and associated products.

Candidate can live in Troy, MI, Winston-Salem, NC or Hermosillo, MX.




Job Responsibilities

As a Strategic Sourcing Manager, you are responsible for;
•    Lead cross functional Procurement and Launch Material Planning teams and develop strategies to optimize NPI spend and drive efficiencies in supply chain
•    Monitor current Electric Vehicle/connectivity market conditions as well as technology roadmaps
•    Identify supply/demand opportunities to drive the product line strategy
•    Identify new high potential suppliers for current and future technologies and develop successful business relationship
•    Utilize TE eCommerce systems for the issuance of RFQs, obtain best price, delivery & purchase terms in accordance to TE’s purchasing policies
•    Negotiate and write Purchasing contracts with suppliers
•    Drive supply base consolidation and leverage existing spend and volume to generate cost-saving opportunities
•    Drive localization wherever logical to achieve self-reliance
•    improve supply chain parameters – Leadtime, Freight & Duty, Inventory, and Quality assessment
•    Lead project transfer meetings and ensure timely transfer from launch to sustaining commodity team
•    Monitor and drive KPI improvements for NPI projects – on time PPAPs, operating income, Inventory, Past Dues, Safety Stock and Premium Freight
•    As required, develop alternative Supply Chain networks to optimize (reduce) freight expense, order fulfilment cycle time, distribution / handling costs
•    Reduce days to market by working with Engineering, Product and Project management team on Project timeline
•    Work in conjunction with the Global Procurement and Material planning teams to identify synergies across business units and regions that can be leveraged for the benefit of Automotive North America
•    Drive VA/VE activities with engineers and suppliers to achieve cost reductions and quality improvements
•    Work with product management teams across in Americas and the other regions to understand customer demand and drive subsequent actions in our S&OP process
•    Secure supply chain readiness for launch (G3 – G5) (demand, supply base readiness, internal / cross regional coordination.
•    Align the product line to Business Unit and Corporate procurement strategies as it relates to key commodities: Resins / colorants, Molding, Stamping, Plating, Cables and Die casting (for current generation)
•    Lead the inventory strategy for the product line to optimize delivery and financial performances
•    Coordinate internal and supplier related escalations as they relate to supply chain for the product family


What your background should look like:

•    At least 10 years of Supply Chain experience
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering discipline required
•    Graduate degree in business (i.e. MBA) is preferred
•    Experience with high voltage battery products/cell to cell connectivity preferred
•    Very good understanding of end-to-end new product development and introduction cycles
•    Essential negotiation and leadership skills, proactive team player, sense of responsibility, self-motivated and goal-oriented attitude
•    Proven track record that demonstrates ability to achieve desired results
